I’m competing in the Milliners of Etsy challenge to create a hat ‘inspired by a movie’. The deadline is the 1st of June.
I love watching films so I’m loving this theme, the problem is choosing which one I want to use. This is why I need your help, please suggest a film that you think would give inspiration for a fabulous hat!
Here’s some that I like. Film-noir thrillers like ‘Dark Passage’ with Bogart and Bacall.
‘Bringing Up Baby’ with Katherine Hepburn & Carry Grant‘Some like it hot’Anything with Ginger Rogers! This is ‘It Had To Be You’.‘Bachelor Mother’‘Lady In The Dark’ (fabulous dream sequences)‘The Red Shoes’Anything directed by Alfred Hitchcock. This is ‘Rebecca’.Big number spectaculars like ‘How To Marry A Millionaire’ with Monroe, Bacall & Grable or ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’ with Monroe & Jane RussellThe brilliantly disturbing ‘Whatever Happened To Baby Jane’ with Bette Davis and Joan Crawford at their acting best.
In a recent interview where Karl Lagerfeld interviews himself, the fashion icon dispensed some great advice.
When asked the secret of success he replied: “There’s no secret, the only secret is work. Get your act together. And also prehaps a decent life, don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t do drugs, that helps one survive better…It depends how much you want to do what you do.”
When asked what would be a perfect day, he replied: “Every day should be perfect. It’s up to you to work on it and to make the day perfect. There is no perfect day, it’s up to you to make every day as perfect as possible. It’s a question of will and discipline.”
